POSITION SUMMARY: The Human Resources Specialist will provide full support to company employees under the direction of the Human Resources Manager. This position will be the first point of contact for employees.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Maintains confidentiality of all Human Resources related issues.
  • Receives, documents and assists with incoming employee relations issues.
  • Documents discipline request and process corrective actions.
  • Assist in the preparation of weekly paycheck distribution.
  • Receives and investigates employees’ inquiries such as payroll or employee benefits issues.
  • Assists in coordinating and conducting HR related training for all employees as needed.
  • Reviews and follows up on meal compliance issues.
  • Enter and maintain employee data into the human resources information system, training database and timekeeping system.
  • Create and issue employee badges as needed.
  • Receives and document employment appeals.
  • Handle incoming inquiries such as W4, W2, direct deposit, wage reports, etc.
  • Enters employee’s request for paid sick leave and vacation.
  • Assist in conducting the hourly employee harassment prevention training.
  • Coordinates onboarding and orientation for new and rehires.
  • Documents employee attendance.
  • Review returning employee files for eligibility.
  • Assists and supports employees in administrative HR related matters.
  • Ensure key human resources metrics are met.
  • Assists in continuous improvement projects as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Associate degree in business, human resources, or in a relevant field.
  • Experience in agriculture food manufacturing preferred.


  • Bilingual in English and Spanish with the ability to read, write and speak.

While performing the duties of this job the employee will be exposed to typical office environment.  Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.  However, employee is expected to travel to the different locations (within 50 miles radius from primary location) to interact with employees in multiple processes.
