Reedley, CA (March 4, 2022) – Prima^® Wawona, the industry’s largest producer of stone fruit has announced it is organizing the First Annual Prima^® Run during the Regional Health & Fitness Expo April 1-3 at their Reedley Cold Storage and Shipping Facility. In partnership with The Greater Reedley Chamber of Commerce and Xcelerate Fitness we are proud to host the First Annual Prima^® Wawona competitive 5k run and 2-mile family walk. This event is in conjunction with the Health & Fitness Expo of Reedley.

The competitive 5k run will start at 6:50 AM sharp, the top three male and female runners who place will receive commemorative medals. The 2k family walk will start firmly at 8:30 AM. The family walk is for all fitness levels and ages, it is free for students in K-12 using the code Prima22.

There will be a featured “Fitness Expo” with athletic competitions, exercise classes, workshops along with food vendors. The Central Valley Throwdown will be present along with a CrossFit competition sponsored by Gnardog Crossfit. All of this will take place over the weekend of April 1-3, 2022. There is something for everyone of all ages from presentations by Fitness Quest Health Club, City of Reedley Parks & Recreation, Reedley College, and Sierra View Homes.

Event organizers expect to attract people from throughout the region and anticipate about 1,500 attendees.

“The goal of this event is to engage and encourage the families in our region to live healthy active lives by introducing them to programs and activities that they may not have known about,” said Greater Reedley Chamber of Commerce President & CEO, Erik Valencia.

Expo Hours:

Friday, April 1, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.  (Check in for those signed up to compete)

Saturday, April 2, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Vendors and activities)

Sunday, April 3, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. (Vendors and activities)
